Aldermoor Hall opened in 1911 as a music hall and has never closed its doors for more than a summer. It has two rooms under one roof, and one rule: the best seat is the one you chose.

The Main Hall, empty, with its red seats
The Main Hall, seen from the stage

The Main Hall

Two hundred and eighty seats in the stalls, the circle and four boxes, a stage of twelve metres, and an acoustic that conductors write letters about. It is the room of the orchestra, the ballet and the large plays. The seats are numbered and you choose them yourself when you book.

The Studio Stage

A hundred and fifty seats and a stage you can almost touch: recitals, jazz and new plays. It is the room where you see the pedals of the piano.

Access for everyone

Both rooms are reached without a step from the street by the side entrance on Mill Lane. Wheelchair places and the seat for a companion next to each are marked on the plan when you choose your seats, and some performances have an audio description or a signed interpretation: they carry a note in the programme. An induction loop covers the Main Hall. Assistance dogs are welcome. Call the box office if you want to talk about what you need: we would rather know.
